Growing up fast!!

Hello all!!
I feel as if the transition from child to adult has hot me with a full on bang in the last few months. Everyone seems to think that puberty is just when you start your period (ooh), but that is not the case! You go threw many a change when your in your teenage years. I have just had my 18th birthday, which is a massive step into adulthood for anyone. I have found that not only have I changed physically, but mentally and emotionally also.
These changes have come at a time where I only have one year left at college, a place where I may hate at times, but is a massive safety blanket for me, and it has made me think massively about my future. I have only ever had one job, which was a paper round when I was a young teen, the thought of leaving college and getting a job is really daunting to me, to think that in just nine months, I've been thrown in the big wide world of bills, overdrafts, contracts, budgeting and all the other adult stuff you normally leave to your parents. The thought of doing that in a cold, wet, dark, damp miserable country is just to much to bear.
Me and my mum have always had a love affair for traveling, an fortunately, I have chosen a trade which I can carry to any country in the world. We have spent months talking things through, going on holidays and researching emigrating to countries outside of the EU. It is one hell of a transition, but as neither one of us (us being Irish) feel at home in the UK, we feel that emigrating will not only bring us sun, sea and more sun, but will bring us sense of comfort, security and happiness.
I wish everyone could be as bold and courageous as people who take the steps to their happiness, and throw all hell to the wind and grab every opportunity that comes their way to make them happy no matter what sacrifices you have to make.
After all, happiness is the most important thing in the world, along with family and support!
Keep smiling💕

Where have I been?

I'm very sorry that I haven't posted in a while, as I have been extremely ill, and have been spending all my time trying to get through college a much as possible without taking unnecessary absences. I have been diagnosed with glandular fever, which for those who are not familiar with the bug, is an extremely high temperature, along with severe fatigue, loss of appetite and weight. Fortunately, I have only lost around 4-5 lbs, most people lose a lot more. I am on the mend now hopefully, so I shall be posting a whole lot more and on a much more regular basis! If in the unlikely event at this point I have any readers, I promise if I go on a slight relapse health wise, I will try to the best of my ability to  post something interesting, but something's better than nothing right?
I can't wait to get this blog up and running properly, fingers crossed my health holds up and I can get back to normal! Toodleloo! ❤️

Picture Perfect?

Well a hearty hello to you! I sincerely apologise for the lateness of this post, I've been neglecting my poor blog, but I am back under wraps. I can only promise this shant happen again.

I want to voice my opinion on a matter that has recently been getting lots of well deserved attention, I am only disappointed that it hasn't been addressed sooner. Lots of people have a certain image of a perfect body, like we should all be looking like these super slim models we see on the cover of every magazine, or our favourite actresses that must have spent a fortune on their super sexy bods.

What we must all understand is that everyone has their own unique shaping and bone structure. Take mine for example, I have ultra skinny wrists, like a childs' really, but I have the biggest ankle bones you have ever seen, seriously, they would look big on a cow. This is just my natural bone structure, and as much as I hate it, there is nothing I can do about it.

I really do think that there is far too much speculation on weight and size, it really doesn't matter as long as you feel comfortable in your own skin, and you feel healthy, then sod what anyone else thinks, and sod the "perfect body image". Be confident in yourself as a person, and the confidence will spread and grow. Just be yourself

Evening lip care routine

Hi beauties!
I have been reading a lot recently about people's daily lip care routines, and what products they use.
I decided to do a post on it myself, which will be my first beauty regime post, excited! You will have to forgive the photo quality, as I lost my camera a while back, and am currently saving up to buy a new one, so my phone camera will have to do for a while.

As I said, do forgive the quality!
Okay, so I use two products every evening to give my lips smoothness, moisture and to help prevent (and sometimes, get rid of) chapped lips. I am one of those people who all year round, will have chapped lips, that split all the time, and are in constant agony. I did a bit of online research, and came across several reviews for the Lush bubblegum lip scrub.

Okay so my photography will get better, I promise!

This lip scrub is the best product I have ever used to get rid of the chapness? I don't even know if that's a word! Well, it is terrific at getting rid of the dead skin on your lips. It is made of caster sugar and jojoba oil, and is wonderfully moisturising, but not the sort of moisturising that leaves your lips feeling greasy or oily. This product is perfect to use before applying lipstick, as it will prevent the lipstick from causing chapness, that miraculous word again! This product is 100% edible, so make sure you have a good lick, of your lips that is, naughty, as it tastes fantastic.

The second product I use, is Nivea Hydro Care lip balm. I tried to take a picture, but it's half past two in the morning, and my phone just wasn't having it so to heck with the blasted thingymabob. This lip balm is enriched with Aloe Vera, so it really supports your lips natural moisture, so used with the lip scrub, acts as a barrier to really ensure that the smoothness gained from the scrub stays put, and no more chaps can appear.

I use these two products every evening, in the morning after I have brushed my teeth, I do use the lip balm as a base for my lipsticks, as I find it acts as a great foundation for a lovely shiny finish.
I would love to hear about other peoples lip routines, so if you have one, pop it in the comments!

G'night!xx

Growing up?

Hello beauts!
I've come to that stage in life, where every teenager wants to become an adult. I am 17, which isn't too far off adulthood, but still too far away. I don't want to become an adult just to be able to drink, go clubbing, watch 18 movies at the cinema without having to take an adult, buy cigarettes or drink, but to have the independence that comes with age. I'd absolutely love to have a job, sturdy annual income and the ability to just pick myself up and go places. Every teenager/young adult has times of experimentation, with drink, drugs, sex etc. but I experienced that at a much younger age, so the thought of growing up for me is just purely to have my own life, not one that has to be shared with mums. But don't people say that teenage years are the best years of your life? Doesn't feel like it! Would love some comments below so I know I'm not the only teen that feels like this?
G'day xx

Starting from the bottom

Welcome! This little glorious piece of internet is selfishly dedicated to all things beauty, fashion and general Shannonzaraness! I love anything to do with candles, fairy lights and glitter. I hope to one day be a professional makeup artist, and have created this blog to share with you stories, tips and techniques I have learnt and stolen from fellow bloggers. I one day would love to meet other bloggers, to swap tips, beauty regiments, styles and to have a wide variety of internet friends.
Here's to new chapters, and a whole piece of internet just for moi!
G'day xx
